Last night I decided to remove pathfinding and movement from the enemies. It's worked out very well so I was able to devote more time to getting the animations in and other important things.
I have finished the level design and implemented the story, which is just a few nodes sprinkled throughout the level. I had someone test a macos build of the game since I've had a couple issues with that before - seemed to work great. I also made some icons using the player sprite and got all my exports set up properly. Will soon work on the shooting system (a very simple implementation is in place), then wrapping up with menus, sfx, and music!
